NF1: Exploring Essay Writing, The Personal Narrative Essay
Tuition: $1495.00 $1246.00 (Limited Time Offer!)
In Personal Narrative Essay, students develop their writing skills in a longer project that is as ambitious as it is fun. The chapter autobiography provides a really unique, guided opportunity for students to tackle a longer form project, allowing young writers to gain confidence and stretch their abilities in a way that simply can't be replicated by the shorter compositions they are typically assigned at school.
Program Objectives
In learning to research and write an autobiography, students are exposed to a diverse array of texts. They learn the basics of writing a research paper: consideration of sources, the weighing and presenting evidence, documentation, and analysis. These skills are critical for success in high school English and History classes. Finally, a small component of the class also exposes students to the critical thinking skills required for standardized test prep.
Register by April 17 and get a FREE 4-week prep course for this class. See flyer for details.

PE1: Exploring Persuasive Essay Writing, Cultural Analysis
Tuition: $1495.00 $1246.00 (Limited Time Offer!)
Why do so many people love Frozen, and Fortnite, and ASMR videos? How do K-pop and Bollywood affect Asian American representation? Taking a deep look at the trends and cultural objects that surround them, students learn to craft innovative arguments by writing sociocultural commentaries. In addition to becoming more persuasive writers, students grow into more informed readers and creative, original thinkers.
Program Objectives:
Each student will complete a full-length review of a piece of media (of the student's choosing) and an essay on the historical background and cultural significance of a modern trend.
